Marcus Rashford to miss remainder of season with hamstring injury

Rashford is now focusing on returning to full fitness in time for England’s international fixtures in June

Marcus Rashford is set to miss the remainder of Aston Villa’s season due to a hamstring injury, according to The Athletic.

While further tests are scheduled to determine the exact severity of the injury, it is not expected that Rashford will require surgery.

With only four Premier League matches remaining, Villa’s final game of the season is against Rashford’s parent club, Manchester United, on May 25.

As he is ineligible to play in that match, it is highly likely that his club season has come to an end.

Although there is a slim chance he could return for Villa’s home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on May 18, this is complicated by ongoing discussions about the potential rescheduling of that match.

Speaking at a news conference on Friday, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim provided an update on Rashford’s future.

“All the players that are on loan, they will return and then the club will decide what to do at the end of the season,” Amorim said.

“Yeah, of course (I am pleased about their form). The talent of Rashford, the talent of Antony, all these players, they have to put that on the team. So we are really happy because if you put a player on loan, the best thing for us is for them to perform and they are performing.”
