Meet the Coaches leading the 18 clubs in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League

The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League officially kicks off on Friday, September 12, 2025, under the floodlights of the Accra Sports Stadium, where Accra Hearts of Oak will host league debutants Hohoe United.

Ahead of the curtain-raiser, attention has been on the men in the dugout the coaches tasked with steering their clubs through what promises to be a highly competitive campaign.

Of the 18 participating clubs, 10 retained their head coaches from last season, while 8 made changes in a bid to refresh their technical direction.

Among those who kept faith with their tacticians are Asante Kotoko (Abdul Karim Zito), Medeama SC (Ibrahim Tanko), FC Samartex (Christopher Ennin), Karela United (Nurudeen Amadu), Bibiani Gold Stars (Frimpong Manso), Heart of Lions (Bashir Hayford), Nations FC (Kassim Ocansey Mingle), Vision FC (Kweku Agyeman), Aduana FC (Aristică Cioabă), and Berekum Chelsea (Samuel Boadu).

On the flip side, Hearts of Oak, Hohoe United, Swedru All Blacks, Eleven Wonders, Bechem United, Basake Holy Stars, Young Apostles, and Dreams FC all appointed new managers, signaling tactical shake-ups and renewed ambitions.

Interestingly, only two clubs will be guided by foreign coaches this season. Aduana FC continue with their Romanian boss Aristică Cioabă, while Swedru All Blacks, returning to the top flight after 16 years, have brought in Egyptian tactician Ahmed Fathi.

The league also boasts a number of seasoned winners. Coaches such as Mas-Ud Didi Dramani (Hearts of Oak), Bashir Hayford (Heart of Lions), Samuel Boadu (Berekum Chelsea), Augustine Evans Adotey (Basake Holy Stars), and Frimpong Manso (Gold Stars) have all lifted the Ghana Premier League title before adding pedigree and intrigue to the technical battlelines.
