Antonio Conte’s Napoli have contacted De Bruyne’s representatives over a potential summer move

Napoli have reportedly joined the race to sign Manchester City’s departing midfielder Kevin De Bruyne in the summer.

According to reports, Napoli have contacted De Bruyne’s representatives over a potential move to Italy with the Belgian yet to decide on his next move.

Antonio Conte’s side have made their move and is ready to battle Liverpool, Chicago Fire, and other linked Middle East giants for the Man City star.

De Bruyne has already announced his departure from City when his contract expires at the end of the season, and The Times claims Napoli are keen on a free deal.

Conte’s Serie A title hopefuls have reached out to confirm their interest, and a potential move would keep the 33-year-old in top-level European football, given they have already qualified for the Champions League next season.

However, Napoli are not the only team considering a move for the six-time Premier League champion.

Liverpool have reportedly made a shocking move that would keep him in England, while Saudi clubs and Major League Soccer outfit Chicago Fire are also in the running if De Bruyne decide to try something different.

De Bruyne confirmed at the start of April that he would not extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium beyond the current campaign. The former Chelsea and VfB Wolfsburg star leaves having established himself as one of the greatest midfielders in Premier League history, scoring 72 goals alongside 119 assists.

De Bruyne, meanwhile, will continue his City farewell tour against Southampton on Saturday as City continue their resurgence to cement their place for Champions League football next season.
