Nations FC announce signing of defender Nathaniel Abbey

Nathaniel Abbey will enhance the defensive depth of Nations FC, bringing added competition to the team.

Ghana Premier League side, Nations has officially announced the signing of defender Nathaniel Anertey Abbey in the ongoing transfer window.

The 20-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the club after passing a mandatory medical examination.

He joined the club on a free transfer after parting ways with defunct Nsoatreman FC.

A statement on the club’s website stated,

“We are pleased to announce that Nathaniel Abbey has joined us from Nsuatreman FC.

The experienced defender has officially started training with the first team ahead of the 2025/26 season.”

Abbey is the second official signing of the club following the signing of Lawrence Ansah ahead of the 2025/26 season.

He is expected to enhance competition in the defence alongside the likes of Osei Kuffour, Okoe Grippman, and Razak Simpson.

Nathaniel Abbey has already joined his new teammates in training in Accra as they intensified preparation for the season.

Coach Kassim Mingle is determined to build a solid team for the 2025/26 campaign after missing out on the title last season.

The Abrankese-based side finished fifth with 57 points during the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
