Newcastle United are eager to strengthen their attack, with Hugo Ekitike now a key target on the club’s radar.
Newcastle set sights on Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike

Newcastle United are looking to bolster their attack this summer and are reportedly keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, as per talkSPORT.
Hugo Ekitike has been linked with several Premier League clubs this summer, including Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea.
However, Chelsea have recently cooled their interest in the French striker after signing Liam Delap and Joao Pedro from Ipswich and Brighton, respectively.

Recent reports confirm that Premier League club Newcastle are interested in the talented forward, with the Bundesliga club, Frankfurt, valuing Hugo Ekitike at €90 million (£77m) this summer.
The Carabao Cup champions are eager to bolster their attacking lineup for the upcoming season, aiming to secure 23-year-old Ekitike to complement their star striker, Alexander Isak.
The Swedish striker netted 27 goals across all competitions last season, lifting Newcastle to a top-five Premier League finish and Carabao Cup triumph.

Meanwhile, Liverpool, having seemingly cooled interest in Ekitike, have turned their attention to signing Isak this summer, though the Reds have yet to make a formal approach for Newcastle’s star striker.
Ekitike’s transfer from Paris Saint-Germain saw the 23-year-old sign a contract with the Bundesliga club, extending through the summer of 2029.
He scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 33 league matches for Frankfurt during the 2024/25 campaign.
Newcastle’s pursuit of Ekitike comes after their unsuccessful attempt to sign Joao Pedro earlier in the transfer window.

The Brazilian instead secured a move to Chelsea from Brighton, signing an eight-year contract at Stamford Bridge. He has since gone on to score two goals in two games for the London club in the ongoing Club World Cup in the U.S.
Talks have also been held with Dominic Calvert-Lewin after he left Everton at the end of the campaign, following the departure of Callum Wilson after his contract expired in June.
Ahead of the upcoming campaign, the Magpies have already been busy in the transfer market, securing the signature of teenage winger Antonito Cordero, who joined the club from Malaga on a free transfer.
While also going to make one marquee Premier League signing by bringing in Nottingham Forest attacker Anthony Elanga for a fee worth £55 million on Friday.
Newcastle aim to balance the demanding Premier League schedule with European football, having earned a Champions League spot with a fifth-place finish last season.
Their goal is to build a top-tier squad capable of navigating another challenging campaign following their absence from Europe last term.
