Gordon picked up a hip problem against Albania
Newcastle star Anthony Gordon withdraws from England squad due to injury

Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon has been forced to pull out of the England squad following an injury sustained during Friday’s 2-0 win over Albania.
Gordon, who came on as a second-half substitute, picked up a hip problem during the match.
The Three Lions have confirmed that Gordon has returned to Newcastle for further assessment and will not be involved in Monday night’s clash against Latvia at Wembley.

“He looks injured,” Tuchel said on Friday night when asked about Gordon’s injury.
“First of all I thought it was his stomach but it’s his hip and it does not look good. It’s a bit worrying.”
Gordon came on as a substitute for Marcus Rashford in the 74th minute during England’s match against Albania.

After receiving medical treatment on the field, he headed straight down the tunnel after the final whistle, raising concerns that something might be wrong.

The 24-year-old has been in excellent form for Newcastle this season, registering nine goals and six assists in 34 appearances.
His injury is undoubtedly a setback for Thomas Tuchel, who is preparing for his second game as England manager.
Despite securing a routine win on Friday, thanks to goals from Myles Lewis-Skelly and Harry Kane, Tuchel criticised his wingers for their lack of impact.
Rashford and Phil Foden were selected to start on the flanks but could lose their starting spots for the upcoming match against Latvia.
This would open the door for Gordon and fellow substitute Jarrod Bowen to potentially earn an opportunity in the starting lineup.
