Newcastle United have submitted an initial offer for Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Newcastle are eager to strengthen their attacking options following a triumphant season, marked by their first Carabao Cup victory in 56 years, a fifth-place finish in the Premier League, and qualification for the upcoming Champions League campaign.
English international Callum Wilson has confirmed his departure from St. James’ Park following the expiration of his contract in June, leaving Alexander Isak as Newcastle’s primary striker for the 2025/26 season.

Ekitike, 23, has attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal, while Chelsea have shifted focus to other targets after securing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and Joao Pedro from Brighton.
Newcastle recently expressed interest in the talented forward, despite his €100 million valuation, though the steep price tag has deterred several clubs from pursuing the French star.
Last week, reports surfaced that a deal was in the pipeline, with Eintracht Frankfurt anticipating bids for the player in the near future.

As anticipated, Newcastle have made the first concrete move to sign Ekitike, with Fabrizio reporting that the Magpies have submitted a bid exceeding €70 million.
Newcastle’s offer falls short of Frankfurt’s asking price, but there is optimism that the Bundesliga club might accept a deal structured to reach their desired €100 million valuation through performance-based bonuses.
As mentioned earlier, United and Liverpool have shown strong interest, but the Red Devils are unlikely to bid close to Frankfurt’s asking price, while the Merseyside Reds plan to sell Darwin Nunez before making a more convincing bid to attract the talented forward.
