Newcastle will have to pay more than £50m to land Joao Pedro from Brighton
Newcastle to increase bid for Brighton forward Joao Pedro

Newcastle United will need to dip their hands further into their summer transfer kitty in their quest to land Brighton forward Joao Pedro this summer.
Newcastle’s £50 million bid for the Brazilian international was rejected, and they will need to go back with a much more convincing offer for the East Sussex club to even consider allowing one of their young talents to leave.
They will, however, have to act quickly to fend off other Premier League suitors, according to talkSPORT.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has made Pedro his top forward target, and the Magpies are expected to increase their £50 million bid to secure the signature of the player.
Meanwhile, Chelsea, who are keen on strengthening their forward areas, are reported to be interested in the 23-year-old talent.
Pedro is believed to have expressed a desire his desire to leave the Amex this summer, and Howe has been a long-term admirer of the forward, who is rated at £70 million by Brighton.

The forward’s ability to either play as a striker, No.10, or out wide appeals to Newcastle manager Howe.
Pedro will become the club’s third Brazilian on the books alongside Joelinton and captain Bruno Guimaraes, if a deal is sealed away from the American Express Stadium.

Pedro joined Brighton from Watford in May 2023 for a club-record fee of £30m and looks set to make a huge profit should he depart this summer.
The Brazilian netted an impressive 20 goals from 40 appearances across all competitions in his debut season at Brighton.
