Newly-promoted Swedru All Blacks confirm Egyptian coach Ahmed Fathi ahead of Premier League return

Swedru All Blacks last participated in the Ghana Premier League during the 2008-2009 season.

Newly-promoted Ghana Premier League side Swedru All Blacks have confirmed Egyptian tactician Ahmed Ibrahim Fathi as their new head coach ahead of their return to top-flight football next season.

The 39-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Central Region-based club, with a clear mandate to help them retain their Premier League status.

Fathi brings valuable experience to the role, having previously served as assistant coach at Egyptian Premier League sides Ismaily SC and El Gouna between 2024 and 2025. He also held deputy coaching roles at El Dakhleya, Egypt National Bank SC, and Ghazl El Mahalla.

He comes to the club with strong technical support, including video analyst Mohammed Adily, who will assist with scouting and tactical breakdowns as the team looks to compete with Ghana’s elite.

In addition to his coaching credentials, Fathi has worked as a performance manager with Modern Future and Eastern Company, further strengthening his technical profile.

Swedru All Blacks return to the Ghana Premier League after more than a decade in Division One, having topped Zone Two last season.

Fathi, who was officially unveiled on Wednesday, is expected to start work later this afternoon. He replaces Prince George Koffie, who led the club to promotion but parted ways with the team after their successful campaign.
