Speaking after sealing his move to the Phobians, an emotional Baba Adamu shared what the deal meant to him.
“I grew up supporting the club. And to top it up, my father is a staunch Phobian. To me, joining this club is a dream come true, which i will forever cherish. I know the huge challenge here, but I am sure with the guidance I will receive here, I will be successful because that’s the big aim.” he said.
Adamu was a standout performer for Golden Kicks during their fairy-tale run to the FA Cup final last season, where they eventually fell to Asante Kotoko. His commanding displays at the back earned him widespread praise.
He also played a key role in helping Golden Kicks finish 5th in Zone 1 of the Access Bank Division One League.
Adamu has been tipped to replace Konadu Yiadom, who left Hearts of Oak on a free transfer to join Israeli side Hapoel Kfar Saba.
The centre-back is set to join his new teammates for pre-season as head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani continues to build a formidable squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
He previously played Soccer Academy in Kpando, Paga United (Div 2), then he played GoldenKicks (Div 1) before joining his dream club Accra Hearts of Oak.
