Paul Pogba’s return to professional football will be a massive progress on his redemption journey
Paul Pogba offered lifeline by Monaco in a two-year deal

Paul Pogba has been offered a lifeline return to professional football by the French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco in a proposed two-year deal.
Pogba could be returning to his home country with the Ligue 1 side tabling a two-year bid to hand the former Manchester United midfielder a second chance after his doping ban.
According to Fabrizio Romano, negotiations between Monaco and the 32-year-old will continue over the weekend. That report has been corroborated by Gianluca Di Marzio, who confirms talks between the two parties are progressing following an initial approach by the club two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Monaco are also said to be working on a deal to secure the signature of Barcelona outcast Ansu Fati this summer.
Pogba last tasted professional football on the 3rd September 2023 in a 2-0 victory for Juventus over Empoli in the Serie A.
The French international received a subsequent ban for a positive drug test following Juventus’ opening game of the 2023-24 season.
The former Man United midfielder initially got banned for four years, but later got his punishment reduced to 18 months.

should the move go through, it will mark the first time Pogba has turned out for a club in his homeland. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner had been linked with a move to Marseille in March after his return to the training pitch, but Les Olympiens walked away due to the player’s high salary demands.
A return to professional football with any club will be a massive victory for Pogba, but a first shot at playing in his native league adds more gloss of feel-good factor to his redemption journey.
