Pep Guardiola to serve touchline ban after FA Cup booking

Pep Guardiola will serve a touchline ban after receiving a yellow card in Manchester City’s FA Cup quarter-final victory over Bournemouth.
The 54-year-old was booked for dissent by referee Stuart Atwell following a foul on star striker Erling Haaland.
Haaland was forced off the pitch after suffering an apparent knee injury from a challenge by Lewis Cook, who landed on top of the striker.

Despite Haaland signalling that he needed to be substituted, Bournemouth continued to play on, which sparked an angry reaction from the City camp.
Kevin De Bruyne was seen exchanging words with Cook, while Guardiola, visibly frustrated, was shown a yellow card after voicing his displeasure with the situation.

This booking marks Guardiola’s third of the season, following previous cautions in Man City’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September and their 3-2 win over Fulham in October.
As a result, he will be banned from the touchline for City’s upcoming Premier League clash against Leicester on Wednesday.
Despite the incident, City managed to come from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Bournemouth, advancing to the FA Cup semi-finals for the eighth time in nine seasons under Guardiola.
Bournemouth took the lead in the first half through Evanilson, but second-half goals from Haaland and Omar Marmoush sealed the comeback and City’s progression to the final four.
City will now face Nottingham Forest in the semi-finals in April. Guardiola is preparing for a tough challenge, with Forest currently enjoying an outstanding season and sitting third in the Premier League standings.
