The Ghanaian champions began their campaign on a shaky note, suffering a narrow defeat to Nigeria’s Bayelsa Queens in their opening fixture.

However, they bounced back strongly with a spirited 3-1 triumph over Benin’s Sam Nelly before completing the job against ASKO in style.

In the crucial match against the Togolese team, the Police Ladies quickly established their dominance.

Deborah Afriyie scored the first goal with an impressive strike, and her teammate Sophia followed up by doubling the lead with a precise finish. This gave the Ghanaians strong control of the game.

ASKO managed to pull one back from the penalty spot just before the halftime whistle, raising hopes of a comeback.

But Police Ladies were determined to finish the job. Afriyie, who was in superb form, struck again in the second half to complete her brace and restore her side’s two-goal cushion.

The 3-1 result not only secured their second consecutive win but also confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the zonal competition.

The Ghanaian side will now turn their attention to a tough semi-final clash against Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas, with a spot in the grand finale at stake.

Police Ladies, who continue to fly Ghana’s flag high, will be hoping to maintain their winning momentum and push further towards qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League proper.
