Prosper Ogum names final Ghana squad for WAFU Zone B U17 Championship

Head Coach of the Black Starlets, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has announced a 23-man squad for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U17 Boys Championship in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast.
The final list is made up of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders and seven attackers, as Ghana sets its sights on securing qualification for the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to the technical team, the squad selection was influenced by players’ output during training sessions and preparatory matches in Accra and Yamoussoukro.
“We are confident in the players we have selected. They’ve worked hard over the past weeks, and we believe they have what it takes to compete and bring glory to Ghana,” Dr. Ogum said after unveiling his team.
The Black Starlets have been in camp in Yamoussoukro since Monday, putting final touches to their preparations for the championship.
Ghana will kick off their Group A campaign against Togo on Saturday, before playing hosts Ivory Coast and later Niger. The top teams in the group will advance to the knockout stage, with a place at next year’s continental showpiece guaranteed for the finalists.
