RB Leipzig has parted ways with head coach Marco Rose, following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
The decision was announced by the club’s sporting managing director, Marcel Schäfer, who expressed gratitude to Marco Rose for his service but acknowledged that a change was necessary to achieve the team’s goals.

Rose had been at the helm of RB Leipzig since September 2022, leading the team to several notable successes during his tenure.
However, the club’s current sixth place standing in the Bundesliga has been deemed insufficient, prompting the search for a new coach to provide a much-needed boost.

In a statement, Schäfer explained that the club had “believed in Marco and his team for a long time” but ultimately felt that a change was required to turn things around.

The dismissal of Rose marks a significant development in RB Leipzig’s season, with the club now tasked with finding a suitable replacement to lead the team for the remainder of the campaign.
An announcement regarding the interim coach is expected to be made shortly, as the club seeks to revive its fortunes and achieve its objectives.
