REVEALED : GFA spent over $262,224 on eight pickup vehicles for Regional FAs

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has handed over eight pickup trucks to some of its regional offices as part of the FIFA Forward Initiative, aimed at promoting football development worldwide.
The vehicles will enhance the operational capacity of the regional offices, facilitating the growth of football across Ghana.

GFA President Kurt Okraku revealed the cost of the vehicles, saying, “The 8 pickups you see here today cost us $262,224…FIFA Forward money is not used to buy second-hand cars.” He emphasized that FIFA funds are utilized transparently and effectively, stating, “FIFA forward money comes in a straight jacket.” Okraku stressed that “FIFA forward money is not hidden money.”

Okraku urged the media to understand the concept of FIFA Forward money and report accurately on its use. “It’s essential for people to learn how to report the truth,” he emphasized, adding that “truth would always win the battle.”
The distribution of the pickup vehicles aligns with the GFA’s mission to develop football infrastructure and support local talent.
As the governing body of association football in Ghana, the GFA plays a crucial role in organizing leagues, cup competitions, and national teams.
