Despite a spirited performance from the Ghanaian team, they were unable to breach the Tanzanian defense, which held firm to secure the win.

Ghana’s U15 team had shown promise in their previous matches, topping Group A with wins over Uganda 2-0, South Africa 1-0, and Algeria 3-0.

The defeat brings an end to Ghana’s hope of hosting and winning the championship. However, the team will now focus on bouncing back in the bronze medal match to salvage a podium finish.

Tanzania, on the other hand, advanced from Group B after a goalless draw with Ivory Coast and a 1-0 win over DR Congo.

Tanzania will now face Senegal in the final on Saturday, after the Senegalese team defeated Uganda 6-5 in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regular time.

The final promises to be an exciting encounter between two of the tournament’s top teams.

Ghana’s U15 team can take heart from their performances in the tournament, and will look to build on their experiences in future competitions.

The team’s exit serves as a reminder of the high level of competition in African schoolboy football, and the need for continued development and investment in the sport.
