Sympathizers, family, teammates and friends pay their last respect to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva
The football world mourns Diogo Jota & brother André Silva

Diogo Jota’s wife and family were joined by Liverpool players at the funeral of the forward and his brother, André Silva, in Portugal, following their tragic deaths in a car crash in Spain.
The father of three, who wed his long-time partner Rute Cardoso just 11 days prior to the tragedy, perished alongside his brother when their Lamborghini caught fire after a suspected tire blowout in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The coffins of Jota and Silva were carried into Igreja Matriz de Gondomar church in the town of Gondomar near Porto on Saturday morning, followed by mourners.

Others seen arriving at the church included Reds head coach Arne Slot, captain Virgil van Dijk, and team-mates such as Andy Robertson, Conor Bradley, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez, and Joe Gomez.

Portugal teammate and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was also in attendance at Diogo Jota’s funeral on Saturday.

Fellow Portugal teammate Ruben Dias was present at the funeral of Diogo Jota.

Jota and Silva were discovered deceased following a car crash on the A-52 in Palacios de Sanabria, near Zamora, at 12:40 a.m. on Thursday.

Authorities are examining whether a tire blowout caused the Lamborghini to veer off the road during an overtaking maneuver, with a source from the Zamora government sub-delegation confirming that a potential speeding incident is also under investigation.

Images from the crash scene revealed debris strewn along the roadside, including what seemed to be charred vehicle parts; however, no other vehicles were reportedly involved in the incident.
