Tottenham to make fresh move for Crystal Palace sensation Eberechi Eze

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly poised to make a fresh approach for Crystal Palace sensation Eberechi Eze this summer.

Tottenham are said to be ready to pursue the FA Cup winner with money set aside to complete the move for Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel’s permanent transfer.

Spurs, who will be boosted by a £100m transfer kitty after qualifying for next season’s Champions League after beating Manchester United 1-0 in an all-English Europa League final.

According to Daily Mail, Tottenham are weighing up a renewed approach for Eze, with manager Ange Postecoglou keen to bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign.

However, reports indicate that funds had already been made available for a permanent deal for Bayern Munich loanee Mathys Tel.

With that settled, Spurs may now focus on securing the services of Eze, who has impressed in his wide role at Selhurst Park.

The north London side included a £47.5 million buy option for Tel when they struck the loan deal in January, but the French forward has not fully convinced during his time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Now, with the season done and recruitment plans set in motion, the club could potentially channel that investment towards more reliable talent.

After what appeared to be a European Cup winners’ hangover, culminating in a defeat to Brighton, Postecoglou emphasized the need for a more balanced squad, urging the board to target players with top-level experience.

While several youngsters stepped up when called upon during the campaign, their lack of consistency and physical presence often left the side vulnerable, particularly in key fixtures.

As such, Tottenham are considering a wide range of targets, as names like Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane being mentioned.

The German international, whose contract is due to expire next year, has yet to agree on terms for an extension with the Bundesliga champions.

Sane’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has reportedly offered his client to several European clubs, with Spurs among those approached.
