Barca all but through to the UCL semis after 4-0 win over Dortmund

Raphinha and Araujo Hansi Flick Barca osasuna Barcelona

Barcelona showed their best selves on Wednesday night when they hosted Borussia Dortmund at the Olympic Stadium in their UEFA Champions League first-leg clash.

The hosts began the game on the front foot and did well to entrench themselves over the opposition, dominating in both defence and attack in the first 20 minutes of the game.

Five minutes later, Raphinha had the last touch on a Cubarsi flick that was already headed in, and that gave Hansi Flick’s side the lead on the night.

The first half ended in a 1-0 advantage for Barca, who went on to put the game to bed in the second half.

Robert Lewandowski grabbed a double in the second half, before Lamine Yamal capped it all off with a soothing finish off a Raphinha assist.

The win means Barcelona have one foot in the last four, and are on course to book a semi-final slot for the first time in Europe’s premier club competition.

Borussia Dortmund have a tough hill to climb and need to do the impossible if they want to qualify for the next round.
