“We will focus on Alaves before Arsenal”- Ancelotti

Real Madrid risk losing thrice in a row against Alaves

Carlo Ancelotti says Real Madrid are focused on beating Deportivo Alaves on Sunday before thinking about staging a comeback against Arsenal next week in the UEFA Champions League.

Madrid suffered back-to-back defeats against Valencia and Arsenal, but it appears the focus of the team is taking it one game at a time.

Ancelotti’s side sit in second place in La Liga, four points behind leaders FC Barcelona who are unbeaten this year across all competitions.

Many assume that because Real dominate the Champions League, it will be their focus this week. However, Ancelotti believes otherwise, stating that gaining all three points in the next fixture is the goal.

“There are tough moments when you lose a game.. you have to think about what to do better. We have trained well and are focused on Alaves. Tomorrow’s game is fundamental because we want to recover good feelings”, Carlo told the press in his pre-match interview.

“People think about Wednesday but what about Alaves on Sunday. We have to focus on La Liga and then we can think about the next game”, he added.

Real are aware there is little margin for error at this point of the season, and will do everything possible within their power to keep their La Liga chances alive.
