Wolves star Matheus Cunha hit with additional ban and fine

Matheus Cunha has already missed two matches of his suspension

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha has been handed an additional one-match ban on top of his initial three-game suspension for kicking out at Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez and headbutting him.

The Brazilian has also been fined £50,000 for his actions during Wolves’ FA Cup fifth-round defeat to the Cherries earlier this month.

Cunha initially received a straight red card for the incident and was set to serve a three-match ban, but the punishment has now been increased to four games.

This comes as a significant setback for Wolves and manager Vitor Pereira, as they aim to secure their Premier League status and avoid being dragged into a relegation battle.
