Acheampong, who parted ways with Legon Cities toward the end of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, makes a comeback to the coastal club he previously managed before leaving in 2021.

The Sharks also confirmed that Felix Aboagye will serve as his assistant.

A statement on the club’s Facebook page read:

Yes, the rumors are true!!! Yaw and Felix are bacccckkkk!! We’re excited to have Yaw and Felix on board and look forward to working together to achieve success on the pitch.”

The two coaches had previously worked together at Sharks before their departure in 2021. Their return signals a strong statement of intent as the club pushes for promotion in the 2025/26 season.

Acheampong brings a wealth of experience, having coached several Ghana Premier League sides, including AshantiGold, where he once captained as a player, Medeama, Eleven Wonders, Inter Allies and Sharks.

Elmina Sharks narrowly survived relegation last season, finishing 11th on the final day. With their technical team reunited, the club has now set its sights firmly on qualifying for the Premier League in the upcoming campaign.
