Medeama coach Ibrahim Tanko credits extra training for win over Bechem United

Medeama head coach Ibrahim Tanko has credited his team’s impressive 3-1 victory over Bechem United to the extra training sessions during the Ghana Premier League’s break.

Tanko, who was recently appointed as head coach, believes that the additional time spent training together was a key factor in Medeama’s success.

Medeama staged a comeback to secure the maximum points at home on Sunday.

Darivin Yeboah gave the visitors an early lead just six minutes into the game, but Kamaradini Mamudu responded with an equalizer ten minutes later.

Michael Sarpong put Medeama ahead in the 66th minute before Kelvin Nkrumah sealed the win with a third goal five minutes into stoppage time.

“We had time to train for a week, so I think it’s part of the reason why we had a very good game today,” Tanko said.

Ghana Premier League Returned Over the Weekend After Suspension

Medeama SC’s victory marked their return to action following the league’s suspension due to the tragic passing of Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw “Nana Pooley” Frimpong.

Medeama will now aim to build on this momentum as they prepare for back-to-back away fixtures against Nations FC on March 16 and Samartex on March 18.

With their growing confidence and improved cohesion, the Mauve and Yellow are well-positioned to mount a strong challenge in the Ghana Premier League.
