Harry Kane wins the 2026 Ballon d’Or

Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane was named the winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or by France Football magazine on Monday, 26 2026, at London’s Palladium Theatre.
Kane has won the prestigious award for the first time in his career, finishing ahead of fellow contenders Kylian Mbappe of Real Madrid and France, and Barcelona’s young Spanish star Lamine Yamal.
Kane’s success came from his goalscoring form for Bayern Munich and England. He scored 61 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern in the 2025/26 season, including 36 in the Bundesliga, 14 in the Champions League and 10 in the German Cup.

He also helped Bayern win the Bundesliga, German Cup and German Super Cup.
For England, Kane scored 12 goals in 14 appearances, including six at the 2026 World Cup. His goals and role in Bayern’s successful season helped strengthen his case for the Ballon d’Or.
The 33-year-old wins the 70th Ballon d’Or, as the first English player to win it since Michael Owen in 2001.

Kane also retained the Striker of the Year award after another prolific season with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker won the award three seasons after leaving the Premier League and claiming his first major trophy with Bayern under manager Vincent Kompany.
