Gideon Mensah urges Ghanaians to support Black Stars ahead of 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Ghana are currently in second place in Group I with nine points

Black Stars left-back defender Gideon Mensah has called for more support from Ghanaians as they prepare for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

The Black Stars will face Chad on March 21 in Accra, followed by a match against Madagascar on March 24 in Morocco, with the ultimate aim of securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup.

Mensah, who was part of Ghana’s squad at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support Ghanaians have shown the team over the years.

He emphasised the importance of unity and encouragement from fans as the Black Stars aim to strengthen their qualification campaign.

“Thank you for your support over the years to the Black Stars,” he said.

“We’ve had great results in our previous games, but we will like to urge everyone to continue supporting us and be a pillar behind us… together we can achieve greatness.”

Ghana are currently in second place in Group I with nine points and are on track to secure a spot in the 2026 World Cup, following a disappointing AFCON qualifying campaign.
