Debut for Ghana

Thomas Partey received his first call-up from former Chelsea head coach Avram Grant, who was managing the Ghana Senior National Team, for a match against Mauritius.

However, the then-Atletico Madrid player struggled to secure a spot in the star-studded Black Stars squad.
On June 5, 2017, Thomas Partey made his debut, coming off the bench to replace Frank Acheampong for the final 11 minutes of a 2-0 away win against Mauritius, which secured the Black Stars’ place in the finals.

Since then, Thomas has established himself as a consistently key player for the Ghanaian team, scoring 13 goals in 50 appearances.

The 50th Appearance

The 31-year-old returned to the Black Stars as deputy captain for the first time since their recent campaigns.
Playing as a lone midfielder, the Arsenal man’s distribution and presence were instrumental in Ghana’s resounding 5-0 triumph over Chad.
