Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has addressed the uncertainty surrounding Kevin De Bruyne’s future as the Belgian midfielder approaches the final months of his contract.

Speculation has also linked the Manchester City star with a potential move to Major League Soccer in the United States before he retires.

Having spent a decade at the Etihad Stadium, De Bruyne has won every major club honour with Man City.

However, when asked about the midfielder’s future, Guardiola remained tight-lipped, insisting his primary focus is on finishing what has been a challenging season on a strong note.

He told reporters: “It is between the club and Kevin and his agent. It is between the club and Kevin. In the position that I am in, we are just concerned about the team and finishing the season in the best position possible.

“We have to think about the best thing for the club with the FA Cup, the Premier League and the Club Wold Cup.”

Guardiola’s side will return to action after the international break on Sunday, facing Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

This is a competition Man City have reached the semi-finals in for six consecutive seasons, winning the trophy twice during that stretch.

With City eliminated from the Champions League in the knockout play-off round and 22 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, the FA Cup has taken on even greater significance this year.

City are the favourites to win the competition, especially after the early exits of teams like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea. However, they will be fully aware of the threat Bournemouth pose.
