Ruben Amorim reveals the ‘secret’ to beating Pep Guardiola

Ruben Amorim has revealed the secret to beating Pep Guardiola as the Portuguese coach aims to secure his third victory over Manchester City this season.
Amorim has already gotten the better of Guardiola’s side twice this campaign. First, he led Sporting Lisbon to a 4-1 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League group stage.
Then, in December, he guided Manchester United to a dramatic late comeback to defeat the eight-time Premier League champions.

Now, with the two teams set to face off once again this weekend, Amorim has shared his strategy for overcoming Guardiola’s Man City.
Speaking to the media, Amorim said: “The secret [to beating City]? Lucky. The first game, with Sporting – we were so lucky. The first half could have been 0-4, and we won 4-1.
“The second game, I prefer, we won in the second half. They controlled possession a little bit more but we were there fighting with Man City. If I have to tell you one thing, it was maybe luck.”

If Amorim guides his Manchester United side to victory against Manchester City this weekend, he would become only the third manager to defeat Guardiola three times in a single season, following in the footsteps of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jurgen Klopp.
Pep Guardiola’s side are still battling for Champions League qualification and currently trail top-four rivals Chelsea, with Newcastle United also in contention and holding a game in hand.
A win at Old Trafford would not only secure bragging rights in the city but could also be pivotal in their push for a European spot
