Ruben Amorim refuses to comment on Man United's interest in Matheus Cunha

Ruben Amorim has declined to comment on speculation linking Wolves star Matheus Cunha with a summer move to Manchester United.

Speaking at his Friday press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth, the Portuguese manager was asked about the rumors but opted not to engage.

Amorim refused to speculate on the possibility of securing Cunha’s signature, stating that the future is “hard to predict.”

The highly sought-after Brazilian forward has a release clause of £62.5million, with reports indicating that United are prepared to meet that valuation.

Despite interest from several other clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal, Cunha is said to be “optimistic” that a move to Old Trafford will materialize this summer.

Amorim said: “I will not say anything about Matheus, because if I say one time I will have to say for any situation that is yes or no.

“So I will not comment about that. It’s hard to predict what is going to happen in the future.”

Last summer, United refrained from surpassing the £60million mark for any of their five signings, but they are expected to explore the possibility of structuring Cunha’s transfer in instalments.

Cunha, who has netted 16 goals in 31 appearances for Wolves this season, recently expressed his desire to leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Brazil international signed a new contract in January, which included a salary boost and the introduction of a release clause.
