Andre Onana open to Man United exit

Andre Onana could possibly leave the Premier League to the Saudi League in the summer

Andre Onana is reportedly open to a Manchester United exit in the summer as Saudi League club prepared to make a move for the goalkeeper.

The shot-stopper is revealed to be in a ‘major discussion’ with Saudi Pro League newcomers over a summer transfer from Ruben Amorim’s side.

The Cameroon goalkeeper’s season has been marred by a string of errors as United look set to record their worst ever Premier League finish.

Onana has struggled since his move to Old Trafford from Inter Milan in July 2023 and may seek a move away to regain his form.

Onana could potentially leave the Premier League for the Saudi League in the summer.

Neom SC, set to be promoted to the Saudi Pro League next season, has reportedly opened “major discussions” with the player and will attempt to persuade him to move to the Middle East as reported by Footmercato.

Onana has seen his stock fall since his switch to Old Trafford, after being widely considered one of the leading goalkeepers in the world.

The 29-year-old’s performances in the Champions League for Inter were crucial in their journey to the 2023 final, begging the question, why has his form fallen drastically off the cliff within a short period after his move to England?

The Red Devils have been linked with Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, but the club will no doubt have a host of other options to keep their search reasonably wide open.

Despite that, the Cameroon international still has time to turn his fortunes around at Old Trafford and become a fans’ favourite as they travel to Bournemouth on Sunday.

They will look to finish the season with some dignity, as they face Athletic Club in the Europa League semi-final in midweek – a competition that will technically move them back into next season’s Champions League if they manage to win it.
