Asante Kotoko’s interim head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has acknowledged the exceptional quality of Hearts of Oak, forecasting a challenging encounter in Sunday’s highly anticipated clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to Zito, the Phobians boast an impressive array of skillful players capable of posing significant problems for the Porcupines.

“They are not a bad side, but sometimes a little bit of luck eluded them when they played,” Zito observed in a recent interview with the club’s media team.

“I think it’s going to be a difficult game because Hearts and Kotoko are not like other clubs. On Sunday, it won’t be an easy game for both clubs.”

Zito’s comments underscore the high level of competition and intense rivalry that characterizes matches between these two Ghanaian football giants.

The former national youth team coach emphasized the inherently unpredictable nature of contests involving Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, two of the most successful and storied clubs in Ghanaian football history.

“I know the game will be difficult. For Hearts of Oak and Asante, you cannot predict until the 90th minute, and it’s over. We are going in with a winning mentality. For that one, I can’t hide it. The field will decide,” he declared.

Asante Kotoko currently occupy fourth place in the league standings, having accumulated 50 points from 29 matches, just two points behind league leaders Bibiani Goldstars.

In contrast, Hearts of Oak sit seventh with 45 points, setting the stage for a high-stakes encounter where both teams will be eager to secure a positive result.

Asante Kotoko will be looking to extend their recent dominance over Hearts of Oak with another victory at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Conversely, the Phobians will be determined to thwart their rivals’ title aspirations while also boosting their own chances of finishing within the top four.
