Man United & Liverpool lead race to sign Lyon star Rayan Cherki

Manchester United and Liverpool are said to be ahead of other suitors to sign Lyon star Rayan Cherki, with the player’s agents reportedly in talks with the Premier League giants over a summer move.
Cherki have been linked with a potential Lyon exit in the summer, and aside from United and Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in the forward.
According to CaughtOffside, the 21-year-old’s representatives have been in touch with United and Liverpool about a potential move, with the winger said to have a €22.5m (£19m) release clause.

Despite interest from Tottenham and City for the French international, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, the pair may be behind the pecking order of United and Liverpool in this transfer race, with news of his agent being in contact with them already.
The report adds that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping tabs on the attacking midfielder.
Cherki, whose contract runs until 2026, has scored 12 goals and provided 19 assists in 43 appearances for Lyon in the current campaign, as the Ligue 1 side sit seventh in the French top-flight.
The French winger, who was reportedly close to joining Borussia Dortmund in January but that move eventually fell through, may play his last game for Lyon when they take on Angers on Saturday in the final match of the Ligue 1 season.
