Rodrygo to stay at Real Madrid despite interest from Premier League clubs

Rodrygo is expected to stay with Real Madrid following a disappointing 2024/25 season

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo is keen on staying at the Bernabeu amid all the interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and a host of Premier League suitors.

Rodrygo has informed Real Madrid he wants to continue his career with the club, cooling all speculations of a potential exit this summer.

The Brazilian endured a roller-coaster 2024-25 campaign and has not featured since the Copa del Rey final on April 26, fueling rumours of a move away in the summer.

However, Marca reports that the club has allowed him to rediscover the standards expected of Real players over the next 45 days and that Xabi Alonso is open to keeping him.

Several Premier League clubs are said to be monitoring the situation for the Brazilian, with Arsenal and Chelsea said to be circling around to pounce for his signature this summer.

Manchester City have previously been credited with an interest and could revisit it as they rebuild under Pep Guardiola.

Rodrygo, was left out of former boss Carlo Ancelotti’s first Brazil squad, with the report claiming he needs to “recover his physical and mental fitness”.

He is said to have renewed energy and has left Real Madrid football chiefs in no doubt that he has the desire to continue playing for the club.

The 24-year-old is likely to form part of Alonso’s Club World Cup squad, which represents an opportunity to fully prove himself as a player with a future with Los Blancos.
