Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly placed an official bid of £70 million for Brentford star Bryan Mbuemo as new manager Thomas Frank plans to hijack him from Manchester United.

Tottenham hope to outbid United for the Brentford winger, swiftly to snatch the forward from under the Red Devils’ noses.

The London side have entered the race to sign Mbeumo from Brentford after holding initial discussions with the Bees regarding a possible summer move for the forward, according to Sky Sports News.

Spurs’ initial huge bid usurps United’s offer by £10 million, although the player’s preference is still understood to be a move to Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Mirror, Spurs have moved in quickly to launch a £70m offer for Mbeumo, totalling a fee of £65 million with add-ons of £5 million.

Tottenham appointed Thomas Frank as their new manager today, and he is said to be very determined to bring Mbeumo with him from Brentford.

Despite United’s advantage in offering the French-born Cameroonian higher wages—approximately £200,000 per week at Old Trafford—Spurs can only provide closer to £140,000 per week.

The 25-year-old has one year left on his Brentford contract

The 25-year-old has just one year left on his current contract, and the Bees are ready to sell to any suitor should they receive the right offer for the decisive winger this summer.

Brentford, however, hold the cards to extend his contract for a further year should they decide to keep him beyond this season.

Spurs will only hope that the player may choose the opportunity to reunite with his former boss, Thomas Frank, over a fresh start under United’s Ruben Amorim, after being confirmed as manager at the London club, signing a three-year contract.

Daniel Levy is keen to deliver a marquee signing for his new manager, and the exciting winger comes in as a potentially viable candidate for the Europa League champions.

Mbeumo scored 20 league goals last season, with only three players managing more: Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, and Erling Haaland.
