Monaco have registered their interest in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to Sky in Italy.

The report adds that the French Ligue 1 giants are exploring the conditions of a deal to sign the 29-year-old, who has found life at Old Trafford difficult since his move from Inter Milan two years ago.

The Cameroon international has been linked with an exit this summer after making numerous high-profile errors at the Manchester club.

Onana still has three years left on his contract, having joined from Inter for £47.3 million in July 2023, based on some stellar performances for the Italian giants.

Since his debut for United, he has made 101 appearances in all competitions across his two seasons at Manchester United.

Despite his inconsistencies, he starred in United’s FA Cup win in his first season and featured regularly last term, but failed to get a start in United’s last four Premier League games – starting only one, with second-choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindir taking his place.

Onana’s time in the Premier League has been a mixed bag

Manchester United are expected to be busy this summer as Ruben Amorim looks to rebuild his squad following the club’s lowest-ever Premier League finish(15th), disappointingly accumulating just 42 points.

Onana, however, has been linked with a summer exit, with strong interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.

Despite the goalkeeper making the headlines, several other players have been linked with a move away from the club, including Jadon Sancho.

Juventus have explored the conditions of a deal for Sancho, with Napoli also interested in the player, who has a year left on his contract and spent last season on loan at Chelsea.

Onana’s suitors, Monaco, finished third in French Ligue 1 last season and are managed by former Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt boss Adi Hutter, who is looking to secure the services of a new goalkeeper.
