The report clams that “talks between the two clubs over a deal worth more than £60million are progressing.

“United ideally want to confirm Mbeumo before returning for pre-season on July 7.”

It is believed that the Cameroon international has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils and stands to earn a whopping £250,000-a-week at Old Trafford.

Man United have been strongly linked with a move for Mbeumo. The Red Devils opening bid of £55million was rejected by the Bees who are pushing for more than £60m.

Arsenal and Newcastle United have expressed a strong interest in the French-born Cameroon international, while Liverpool have previously been linked with the forward in earlier transfer windows.

Tottenham also entered the race to sign Mbeumo from Brentford after holding initial discussions with the Bees.

The 25-year-old has one year left on his Brentford contract, though the club have the option to extend by a further year.

Brentford are under no pressure to sell Mbeumo alongside Yoane Wissa this summer, however, they will listen to offers for the duo.

Bryan Mbeumo was signed from Troyes in 2019 for around £5.8m.

Since then, he has emerged as one of Brentford’s most astute signings, helping the club earn promotion from the Championship and firmly establishing himself in the Premier League.
