Liverpool confirm signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of defender Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in a deal worth £40m.
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal, becoming Arne Slot’s latest signing of the window.
The Premier League champions have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong for £29.5m from Bayer Leverkusen and his club-mate Florian Wirtz for what could become a British-record £116m move.

The Reds also agreed a £29m deal last summer for goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will officially join the club from Valencia on July 1.
Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com in an exclusive first interview, the Hungary international said: “I’m really happy.
“It’s a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I’m just really, really happy and excited.
“After this, I’ll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can’t really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.”
Kerkez joined Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 and has since racked up 74 appearances, scored two goals, and provided eight assists across all competitions.

Last season, he featured in all 38 Premier League games as the Cherries finished 9th. In total, he made 41 appearances, netted twice, and registered six assists.
Kerkez added: “I just want to thank everyone for really showing me big love, even before it will be announced now.
“And keep supporting the team like you support always, because you’re the biggest fan base in the world.
“I’m going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield. I can’t wait to hear the roar. And see you soon.”
