Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has completed his Manchester United medical ahead of his £71 million summer move, and is on the verge of formalising all details for a six-year contract at Old Trafford, according to Sky Sports.

Bryan Mbeumo is in the final stages of his highly anticipated transfer to Man United and is set to sign in time to join the club’s pre-season tour to the USA, which departs on Tuesday.

All necessary paperwork is expected to be finalized, allowing him to join the United squad flying to the United States for the tour.

After weeks of lengthy discussions and rejected bids for Mbeumo’s transfer to United, the Red Devils finally made a breakthrough in negotiations with Brentford on Friday, following United’s submission of an improved offer worth £71m on Thursday.

The deal includes a guaranteed fee of £65 million paid in four installments, plus an additional £6 million in potential add-ons.

Ruben Amorim’s team had been in negotiations with the Bees for over a month regarding Mbeumo, after a previous offer of £55m plus £7.5m in add-ons made two weeks earlier was rejected.

Mbeumo, who had two years remaining on his contract, has consistently expressed his desire to play for United, even after Tottenham Hotspur showed strong interest in luring him to reunite with his former manager, Thomas Frank.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old’s add-ons are believed to be highly attainable, primarily tied to appearances and goals in the Premier League, making it likely that Brentford will secure a fee close to £70 million.

The potential add-ons could see Brentford earn over £60 million in profit on the Cameroonian international, who was signed for just £4 million from Troyes in 2019 and has since scored 70 goals while providing over 50 assists for teammates.

Mbeumo’s 27-goal contribution in the Premier League last season transformed match outcomes, securing Brentford 22 points—equivalent to 40% of the Bees’ total season tally.

Subject to finalizing all signing details, Mbeumo is expected to bolster United’s lackluster attacking output, which saw Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund score just 7 goals combined in the Premier League last season, as the club seeks to enhance its firepower.
