Aminu Mohammed begins training with Bechem United

Former Ghana U-17 star Mohammed Aminu has begun training with Bechem United as the Hunters step up preparations for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
Aminu, who joined the club a week ago, was involved in Thursday’s training session, including gym work alongside his new teammates as they intensified their pre-season regimen.

The 23-year-old forward signed a one-year deal with Bechem United as he looks to revive a career that once held immense promise.
Aminu has been without a club since 2022 when English giants Manchester City opted not to extend his contract. He rose to prominence during the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India, where he helped Ghana reach the quarterfinals. His standout performances earned him a $2 million move from WAFA to Manchester City.
Dubbed “the Neymar” due to his dazzling dribbling and eye for goal, Aminu once attracted interest from European powerhouses including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain—especially after netting twice against PSG at the 2016 Al Kass Tournament in Qatar.
However, a series of setbacks derailed his progress. Loan spells at NAC Breda and Lommel SK were plagued by injuries and inconsistency. He was eventually released by Manchester City and later joined Greek lower-tier side Kozanis as a free agent.
Aminu is determined to rediscover his best form and make a strong impact in the Ghana Premier League.
