Tottenham on verge of signing RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons

Tottenham are close to securing the signing of RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons for €60m (£51.8m), according to BBC Sport.
The Netherlands international is already in England, with reports claiming that he has completed his medical ahead of finalising his move to Thomas Frank’s side.

The two clubs have reached an agreement in principle over the overall package for the 22-year-old, with the remaining details expected to be finalised within the next 24 hours.
Earlier this summer, Chelsea held talks with Leipzig over a potential move for Simons but are now set to complete a £40m deal for Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho instead.
Simons is poised to join Joao Palhinha and Mohammed Kudus as Spurs’ summer signings.

He is expected to slot in on the left of Frank’s front three, allowing him to cut inside onto his favoured right foot.
Last season in the Bundesliga, Simons spent 75% of his playing time on the left, though he is also capable of playing centrally or on the right if required.
Tottenham previously failed in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, while another key target, Eberechi Eze, opted to join rivals Arsenal from Crystal Palace.
