Ghana failed to qualify for the last U-17 AFCON after a surprising defeat to Burkina Faso.
Black Starlets discover opponents for WAFU B U-17 Championship

The Black Starlets have been drawn into Group A of the upcoming WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship, which will serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The official draw took place on Thursday morning in Yamoussoukro, the Ivory Coast, where seven countries were placed into two groups.
Group A will feature four nations: Ghana, the Ivory Coast, Niger, and Togo, while Group B will have three countries battling for qualification.

The tournament is scheduled to kick off on September 20, 2025, in Yamoussoukro, and will run until October 3, 2025. It promises to be an exciting showcase of emerging talent as the best youth players in the sub-region compete for a place at the continental stage.
Meanwhile, the Ghana U-17 team led by head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum have been in camp preparing for the competition. As part of their build-up, the Starlets will test their readiness with a friendly against Attram De Visser on Friday at the University of Ghana Park.
Ghana has missed three consecutive editions of the U-17 AFCON, and Coach Prosper Ogum Narteh is determined to change this trend.
