“The King of Goals is back! John Antwi returns home to Dreams FC, and he’s back in his iconic No.11 shirt,” the club wrote on its official social media pages.
The prolific forward, who reclaims his No.11 jersey for the “Still Believe” lads, comes with a decorated career and vast experience, particularly from his successful spell in Egypt.
Antwi won two Egyptian Premier League titles with Al Ahly and etched his name in history as the all-time highest foreign scorer in Egyptian club competitions.
His return is viewed as a significant boost to Dreams FC’s domestic ambitions and a replacement for Joseph Esso.
With his lethal finishing, technical quality, and experience, Antwi is expected to lead the frontline while guiding and mentoring younger teammates.
The 33-year-old striker, capped twice for Ghana, has represented top clubs across Africa and most recently featured for Libyan side Murooj after leaving Dreams FC last season.
This marks his third stint with the Dawu-based side, making his homecoming even more symbolic.
Dreams FC are currently winless in their opening three Ghana Premier League matches, and fans are hopeful that Antwi’s return will spark a turnaround bringing goals, victories, and possibly silverware in the coming campaigns.
