GPL Matchday 5 Wrap : Medeama and Aduana maintain home dominance as Vision stun Champions

Matchday Five of the Ghana Premier League produced thrilling results across all centers, with Medeama SC and Aduana Stars maintaining their perfect home records, while Eleven Wonders and Bechem United continued to struggle.
On Friday, Medeama edged Dreams FC 2-1 in Tarkwa to continue their strong form. Abdul Salam opened the scoring before Christian Owusu equalized for Dreams.
However, Owusu’s late own goal handed Medeama a dramatic win their fourth in five matches. Dreams, meanwhile, have now lost four of their last five games.

In Tema, Vision FC impressed with a commanding 3-0 victory over defending champions Bibiani Goldstars. Abdul Sumaila’s brace and a late goal from Sherrif Mohammed sealed the memorable triumph at the Nii Adjei Kraku Stadium.

At Abrankese, the Ashanti derby between Nations FC and Asante Kotoko ended in a goalless draw meaning the Porcupines remain winless against Nations since their promotion to the top flight.

At Dormaa, Aduana Stars came from behind to defeat Bechem United 2-1 at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
Darlvin Yeboah gave Bechem the lead, but Alex Boakye and Emmanuel Marfo turned the game around for the Ogya Boys, who have now won all three home matches. Bechem, however, are still without a win after five rounds.

Hohoe United made it back-to-back victories after a 2-0 home win over Swedru All Blacks, thanks to goals from Paul Kwame and Osman Safianu.
At the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Karela United and Berekum Chelsea shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Bless Ege scored for the hosts before Kwesi Badori leveled for Chelsea.

Young Apostles continued their fine form with a 2-0 home win over Basake Holy Stars in Wenchi. Goals from Hussein Issah and Ramzy Abubakar lifted them to third on the league table.
In Samreboi, Samartex cruised past Eleven Wonders with a comfortable 2-1 win.

The final fixture of the round will see Hearts of Oak host in-form Heart of Lions on Monday evening at the Accra Sports.
