Mallam Yahaya brings extensive experience to the club based in Bechem.

Ghana Premier League side Bechem United have strengthened their technical bench with the appointment of former Black Stars midfielder Mallam Yahaya as the club’s new assistant coach.

The experienced tactician takes up the role following recent changes in the Hunters’ technical setup and will work closely with head coach Kobina Amissah, who replaced Desmond Issah Botchway earlier this week.

Mallam Yahaya arrives with vast coaching experience, having previously managed clubs including King Faisal, Elmina Sharks, Conner Stone, New Edubiase, Unistars FC, Nzema Kotoko, Future Stars, and Bekwai Heroes.

His most recent role was as head coach of Techiman Liberty a Division One League side, from which he exited two months ago.

Bechem United confirmed the appointment through an official statement on the club’s Facebook page:

“We are thrilled to announce that Mallam Yahaya, former Ghana Black Stars and Borussia Dortmund player, has officially been appointed as our Assistant Coach. Let’s give him a warm welcome and look forward to an inspiring season ahead.”

Bechem United have endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign and currently sit in the relegation zone with six points from eight matches, having won one, drawn three, and lost four.

Yahaya’s first assignment will be to assist Amissah as the Hunters prepare to face Young Apostles, with the technical team aiming to turn around the club’s form and restore confidence among supporters.
