AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has been released from hospital after his frightening head injury during AC Milan’s clash with Udinese on Saturday.

Maignan’s head injury caused some panic amongst his teammates and the visiting side, leaving Tammy Abraham praying wile the medics were attending to him.

the incident happened when Maignan raced off his line to challenge a dangerous ball sent into Milan’s half, just ten minutes into the second half.

He unintentionally collided with his teammate, defender Alex Jimenez in the process, resulting in a heavy impact that sent both players crashing to the turf.

The severity of the contact brought play to an instant halt, despite Udinese finding themselves with a clear opportunity to score.

For a moment, silence fell over the stadium stadium, as Maignan appeared motionless, raising fears of a serious head injury.

Medical staff rushed onto the field, and the goalkeeper was stretchered off, with substitute Marco Sportiello taking his place in the 55th minute. The shocking nature of the incident left several Milan players deeply concerned.

In total shock and despair, England international Tammy Abraham, who was on the bench at the time, fell to his knees with open arms and began to pray as Maignan received treatment.

While everyone was bewildered by the sudden turn of events, AC Milan later provided reassurance by confirming that Maignan never actually lost consciousness.

As a precautionary measure, the Milan captain for the night was taken to a nearby hospital in Udine, where he was kept overnight for observation and underwent a series of medical tests to make sure he was indeed in good shape.

Fortunately, all results returned were clear, and the 28-year-old was discharged from the hospital on Saturday morning.

According to reports from Tuttomercatoweb, Maignan is now heading back to Milan to rejoin the team and begin recovery under the club’s medical supervision.

Milan will go on to clinch a vital 4-0 away win to lift them to 51 points in the league standings, however, they remain in ninth position, four points behind Lazio in the race for European qualification.
