Accra Lions FC has announced a groundbreaking partnership with German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, set to take effect in June 2025.

This collaboration promises to bring numerous benefits to both clubs, including player development, knowledge transfer, and cultural exchange.

The partnership aims to promote Accra Lions FC players and open up opportunities for them in international football.

In return, Eintracht Frankfurt will gain valuable insights into the circumstances and background of West African football, helping them better understand the growing number of African players in international football. This exchange will not only benefit the clubs but also contribute to the development of football in both regions

Eintracht Frankfurt is a powerhouse in European football, with an impressive record of achievements, including one German championship, five DFB-Pokal titles, and two UEFA Europa League wins.

The club has a long history of embracing African talent, with legendary players like Anthony Yeboah and Jay-Jay Okocha making a lasting impact on the team.

According to Oliver Koenig, Chairman of Accra Lions FC, “This partnership is a significant step for our club. We are proud to have a renowned Bundesliga club like Eintracht Frankfurt on our side. Our players and coaches can benefit enormously from this collaboration – both athletically and personally.” Koenig added that the partnership presents a fantastic opportunity for cultural exchange between two football-loving countries, extending far beyond football-specific topics.

Markus Kroesche, Sporting CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt, expressed the club’s enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are very pleased about the partnership with Accra Lions FC, which opens up new opportunities for both clubs.

This initiative will not only help us discover talent from Africa, but also contribute to sharing our sporting and organizational experience with a dynamic club like the Accra Lions.”

The cooperation is in line with Eintracht Frankfurt’s strategic goal of expanding its international network and promoting youth development worldwide. The club recognizes the growing importance of the African football market and wants to actively shape this dynamic.
