Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has been offered to Arsenal, with reports confirming that his representatives have also approached multiple Premier League clubs regarding a potential summer transfer.
The Nigeria international, who struggled during his time at Everton and RB Leipzig, has transformed into one of Europe’s most in-form forwards at Atalanta. His standout performances, including a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final, earned him the 2024 African Player of the Year award.
Lookman’s Future & Premier League Return
Despite his success in Serie A, Lookman has reportedly fallen out with Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini following a dispute over a penalty-kick incident in the Champions League clash against Club Brugge. This has accelerated his desire to leave the club this summer.
According to TEAMtalk’s Italian correspondent Rudy Galetti, both Manchester United and Newcastle United have already shown interest in Lookman. Meanwhile, TBR has revealed that the forward’s representatives have reached out to Arsenal to gauge their interest.
Additionally, Tottenham, Liverpool, Aston Villa, and West Ham have been alerted to his availability, with Juventus and Napoli also monitoring the situation. Reports indicate that Chelsea are keeping tabs as well.
Atalanta’s Stance on Lookman’s Departure
Despite Lookman’s status as a key player for Atalanta—having won their Player of the Season award in both 2022/23 and 2023/24—the club is now open to selling him this summer.
Atalanta persuaded him to stay last year, but following his dispute with Gasperini, they are reportedly ready to cash in on the 27-year-old forward.
With 17 goals and seven assists in 30 appearances this season, Lookman’s consistent form makes him a valuable target for Premier League clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal or other suitors will make a concrete move in the coming months.
