According to reports, Aduana paid close to 1 million Ghana cedis in compensation to Chelsea, as Afriyie had one year remaining on his contract. The player himself is said to have received over 200,000 cedis as a sign-on fee.

Afriyie has been a standout performer for Berekum Chelsea over the past three seasons, racking up 86 appearances, 27 goals, and 11 assists. In the just-ended 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, he featured in 32 matches, contributing three goals and three assists.

His impressive club form earned him a call-up to the Black Galaxies during the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, where he made his senior international debut.

Afriyie becomes Aduana’s third major signing of the window, following the acquisitions of Godfred Boakye and Gregory Obeng Sekyere.

After finishing 10th in the 2024/25 campaign, Aduana Stars are aiming to bolster their squad significantly as they eye a strong push for the Premier League title in the upcoming season.
