Al Ahly Benghazi announce signing of Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah

Libyan giants Al Ahly Benghazi have confirmed the signing of Asante Kotoko attacker Albert Amoah, effective immediately.
The announcement came just an hour after Kotoko’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup, following a heavy 5-1 defeat to Wydad Athletic Club.

Amoah featured in the game but was substituted in the second half as the Porcupines bowed out of the competition.
Since joining Kotoko from Great Olympics, Amoah has been a key figure in the team’s attack. He scored 12 goals in 25 appearances last season, helping the club clinch both the MTN FA Cup and the Champions of Champions trophy.
The 24-year-old has already netted three goals in all competitions this season before sealing his move to Libya.
The transfer has come as a major surprise to Kotoko fans, who were not expecting any departures at this stage of the season.
Head coach Abdul Karim Zito will now look to find a replacement in the coming days, with Kwame Opoku currently sidelined by injury.
Asante Kotoko are yet to issue any official statement on Amoah’s transfer.
